Pre-departure checklist

Ready to leave? Just run through this list.

Introduction

To leave the apartment properly for the next guests, we ask you to complete the following tasks.

Our cleaning team will then carry out the thorough final cleaning. You don’t need to mop or clean extensively, just complete these basic tasks.

Please note: All incomplete tasks will be charged to our cleaning team and thus invoiced to you. Costs will be deducted from the deposit.

✅ BEDS & LINEN

  • Strip used beds: Remove the bedding from all beds that have been used.
  • Collect linen + towels: Place all used sheets, pillowcases and towels on the floor in the hallway. DO NOT remove the mattress protector. Leave the mattress protector on the mattress, unless it’s dirty. Then you can also place it with the linen.

✅ WASTE

  • All rubbish to the container: All your rubbish must be deposited in a waste container—do not leave it in the apartment. You’ll receive specific information about this via email.

✅ KITCHEN

  • Dishwasher must be empty: Make sure the dishwasher has finished and everything is back in the cupboards.
  • If not empty: our team has to do this → €35 extra cost deducted from your deposit.
  • All items back in the correct cupboards: Plates, glasses, cutlery, pots—make sure everything is back in its place.
  • Tables and counters wiped: Wipe away crumbs, clean stains. The kitchen must be clean.
  • Oven and hob: No baked-on grease or food residue. You don’t have to scrub, but don’t leave dirty pots or oven.

✅ GENERAL CLEANING

  • Broom clean = vacuumed: Vacuum the floors. No crumbs, no paper scraps, no visible dirt.
  • Tables and surfaces: Leave dining table, coffee table, nightstands clean.
  • Bathrooms: Leave showers, sinks, toilets clean. No hair in the drain, no soap residue.
  • You don’t need to mop or disinfect—our cleaning team does that. But leave it tidy.

✅ CHECKS & FINAL VERIFICATION

  • Check cupboards: Look in all cupboards to see if you’ve forgotten anything. Clothes, shoes, toys, phone chargers—check everything.
  • Report broken items. Broke something? Let us know right away. No problem—things break. But we need to know. If we discover it afterwards during inspection, it becomes more difficult.

  • Windows and doors closed: Check that all windows and doors are properly closed.
  • Heating to 16 degrees: Set the thermostat to 16°C before you leave.
  • All lights off: Walk through the apartment and turn off all lights. Including bathroom, bedrooms, storage.
  • Leave keys: Leave the keys in the agreed location (explained during check-in).

☐ Bathrooms clean (no hair, no soap residue)

☐ Cupboards checked for forgotten items

☐ Broken items reported

☐ Heating set to 16 degrees

☐ All lights off

☐ Windows and doors closed

☐ Keys left in agreed location

What if I forget something

Incomplete tasks will be charged:

  • Dishwasher not emptied: €35
  • Rubbish not disposed of: €25
  • Extreme soiling (baked-on pans, dirty oven): €50-€100

These costs will be deducted from your deposit.

Inspection after departure

After check-out, we inspect the apartment. If everything has been completed according to this checklist, you’ll receive your full deposit back within 7 working days.
