House Rules

Simple agreements for a pleasant stay

Introduction

These are the ground rules. Not because we want to be strict, but because respectful use keeps the apartment in good condition and because the permanent residents in the building have a right to peace and quiet.

Most agreements speak for themselves. Still, please read through them.

Check-in & check-out

Arrival

Check-in from 4:00 PM

Upon arrival, you’ll receive the keys via a key safe. You’ll receive the code before arrival.

Earlier check-in is sometimes possible, depending on the schedule. Ask in advance—we always try to accommodate.

Departure

Check-out before 10:00 AM

On the day of departure, we ask you to vacate the apartment before 10:00 AM. This gives our cleaning team sufficient time to prepare for the next guests.

Later check-out may be possible by arrangement, but is not always feasible.

Peace & disturbance

Quiet hours between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM

The apartment is located in a residence with permanent residents. Respect their peace and quiet, especially at night.

No loud music, even during the day. Close doors and windows gently. Children may play, but not run in common areas.

Please note: The Police are not lenient with fines for noise disturbance. Violations may result in fines that are your responsibility.

No parties or events

The apartment is not suitable for parties, bachelor parties, or noisy gatherings. In case of violation, the booking may be terminated without refund.

SMOKING & PETS

No smoking

Smoking indoors is not permitted, including on balconies or terraces. In case of violation, we charge €150 cleaning costs for odor removal and deep cleaning.

No pets

Pets are not allowed, without exceptions. Unexpectedly brought a pet? This leads to immediate termination of your stay without refund.

Energy & consumption

All facilities in the apartment are available for the full duration of your stay. We do ask that you use heating, electricity, and water consumption responsibly.

Heating

  • Turn off the heating before opening windows or doors
  • Don’t leave windows open with the heating on
  • Upon departure: set heating to 16 degrees

Electricity

  • Turn off lights when leaving a room
  • Switch off appliances you’re not using (TV, Nespresso)
  • Don’t leave anything unnecessarily on at night

Water

Use water consciously. The coast is beautiful, but not an inexhaustible source.

Cleaning & maintenance

The apartment is delivered clean. We expect you to leave it tidy as well. You don’t need to clean—our cleaning team carries out the thorough final cleaning. But we do ask:

  • Empty the dishwasher (otherwise we charge €35)
  • Take rubbish to the waste containers (you’ll receive specific information about where to go)
  • Collect used towels and linen (see Check-out Checklist)
  • Leave broom clean = vacuumed, no crumbs or papers

Extreme soiling (baked-on pans, dirty oven, stains on sofas) leads to additional cleaning costs deducted from your deposit.

Damage & missing items

Things break, we understand that. One broken glass or plate? No problem, it happens. Always report larger damage immediately:

  • Broken appliances
  • Stains on furniture or floors
  • Broken crockery in large quantities

We’ll solve it together. It only becomes a problem if you don’t report it and we discover it afterwards during inspection.

Keys & access

Upon arrival, you’ll receive the apartment keys and any access badges for the building. Lost a key? Report it immediately. We charge the costs for replacement. At check-out, you leave the keys in the agreed location (explained during check-in).

Parking

Included parking

We provide 1 parking space per apartment (Maison Rachelle has 2 spaces). You’ll receive a badge or key for the garage at check-in. Parking is only permitted in designated spaces. Improper parking in the residence may lead to towing, costs are your responsibility.

Coffee & amenities

All apartments have a Nespresso machine (small cups). We provide a starter pack with capsules. Additional capsules are at your own expense. There’s also a filter machine available. We provide filters, not coffee.

Safety

  • Close windows and doors when leaving the apartment
  • Valuables are your own responsibility
  • No open flames (candles are allowed, if supervised)
  • Don’t disable fire detection—if the smoke alarm goes off from cooking, ventilate and then turn it back on

In case of fire or emergency: call 112 and then report it to us.

Number of guests

The apartment is approved for a maximum number of people (stated in your booking confirmation). This number may not be exceeded, not even for a few hours. Unexpected guests staying over? Report it in advance. We’re flexible, but need to know for insurance and safety reasons.

Violation of rules

In case of serious violation, we may terminate the booking without refund:

  • Parties or bachelor parties
  • Noise disturbance after repeated warnings
  • Smoking indoors
  • Pets without permission
  • More guests than permitted
  • Extreme soiling or intentional damage
